Tribute to Mum
Mum died and left me.
I watched her slowly slip away
I hung my head and held her hand
I kissed her forehead and said good-bye
It didn't even make me cry.
Her soul is finally on its way
To what we call the promised land
I hide my grief and with a sigh
I wonder why she had to die.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust
She wait expectantly for spring to arrive
I'll sprinkle her ashes on roses of beauty
Her dying wish is my solomn duty.
