Brand names :: Methotrimeprazine, Levoprome IM This drug is my favorite for treating anxiety. It non-addictive, which is what I like. The doseage can be as little as 5 mgs and I know people that take 100 mgs to sleep at night. Of course those people have built it up over time. That much would knock me out for a week these days. LOL. I take 15 mgs prn. I like it because I can play with the dose as needed. Usually only by 5-10 mgs a time. I don't get a "numb" feeling nor do I feel "dizzy" or have a clouded mind. I don't notice any effects found with the benzodiaepine drug group. This drug alieviates the quaking I feel inside me. I can be feeling so tense and nervous and soon after taking this drug i feel very calm again. Not "numb" not desensitized. just "normal". Nozinan belongs to the drug group called phenothiazines. These drugs act on the brain to modify abnormal behaviour, reducing aggression and tranquilizing aggitation. Nozinan is also used to help in schizophreinia and other disorders where confusion, aggression, hallucinations and abnormal behaviour may occur. Also used as a pain killer. Information for users: Frequency and timing of doses - 1 - 3 x's a day. With food. Adult dosage range - 25 - 75 mg daily.;70 -200 mg (maintenance dose). Occasionally, larger doses maybe prescribed. Onset of effect - 15 - 20 mins. by injection; 30 - 30 mins. by mouth Duration of action - 10 - 12 hours. Diet advice - None Drug Group - Phenothiazines Overdose danger - Medium Dependence rating - Medium Prescription needed - Yes Storage: - keep in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Protect from light. Missed dose: - No cause for concern but take when you remember. If your next dose is in two hours, take a single dose now and forget the next. Stopping the drug - If only taken for a short period you can stop immediately, but if you have been taking this drug for an extended period of time then you need to taper off according to doctor's instructions.
